Canva Timer

Using a timer during independent coursework is a simple yet powerful strategy to keep students focused and on task. When students know they have a set amount of time to complete a task, they are more likely to stay engaged and work efficiently. Timers create a sense of urgency, helping students manage their time better and avoid distractions. This technique also encourages accountability, as students can track their progress and adjust their pacing to ensure they complete their work within the given time frame.

Additionally, timers help teachers structure classroom activities effectively. Breaking tasks into timed segments, such as “work for 10 minutes, then check your progress,” keeps students from feeling overwhelmed and promotes a productive workflow. It also allows teachers to monitor progress and provide support when needed. Whether using a visual countdown, a digital timer, or even a fun classroom challenge, incorporating timers can create a more structured and efficient learning environment.

I use Canva for most of my course lessons so I prefer the Canva timer shown in the video above.

I was making a long division worksheet for my students in Google Docs when I realized that it wasn't under equations. Here's how to insert it.  This does not look very pretty so I have another video on how I do it in Google Sheets which takes longer but looks nicer.

Baby Yoda Pixel Art Template

This template is set for 3 sets of answers.  I have the answers that are currently set, you will need to reformat them to use with your content.   Baby Yoda Pixel Art Template Be on the lookout for this activity given 2 ordered pairs and asking for slope, y-intercept, and the equation of a line.  I'm also formatting this for converting between percents, decimals, and fractions.  If you want to reformat it before I post the above activities here is how.

Creating a Cut and Paste Worksheet like TPT

My secondary students are still at an age to enjoy cut and paste worksheets.  This is how I create a template to quickly make a cut and paste worksheet on a template for them.  A template is super helpful to use as you can make a copy any time you want a new topic in that style of activity.
